Little Animal Adventures: Learning Through Play!

Recently, Pre-Nursery has been exploring the wonderful world of pet and farm animals! During circle time, children were invited to take part in a variety of engaging learning experiences, exploring the sounds different animals make and discovering who lives on the farm and which animals become our much-loved pet friends.

To bring their learning to life, we set up a range of interactive play areas, including sheep shaving, animal feeding, an animal hospital, a farm and a pet house. These inviting spaces allowed children to revisit what they had been learning and use their new knowledge as inspiration for their own imaginative play. It was lovely to see their creativity shine through as they prepared yummy meals for the animals, became veterinarians caring for their patients, took pets for a shower, tucked them into bed and much more!

Alongside their pretend play, children were also offered a variety of hands-on construction and art activities to deepen their understanding of animals, build new vocabulary and explore their physical features and habitats. Through these creative experiences, they developed a range of important learning skills, including shape exploration, hand-eye coordination, colour mixing, creativity, counting, fine motor strength, and investigating different materials and textures.

Everyone enjoyed the adventure with curiosity, creativity, and lots of joy!
