BIS Hanoi mathematicians bring home gold and silver at UKMT Team Maths Challenge 2026

BIS Hanoi is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the UKMT Team Maths Challenge (TMC) 2026, where they competed against some of the strongest mathematics teams from 13 countries across Asia.

Representing BIS Hanoi in Singapore, the UKMT Junior Team demonstrated exceptional mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills and teamwork throughout the competition. The team consisted of:
- Pitt (Hohyeon Song), Year 10
- Khoi Nguyen Pham, Year 10
- Minchan Kim, Year 8
- Quang Long Pham, Year 10
Competing at an international level, our students delivered an impressive performance, earning one Silver Award and three Gold Awards. These results reflect not only their mathematical talent but also the dedication, perseverance and collaborative spirit they brought to every challenge.

The UKMT Team Maths Challenge is designed to encourage students to think critically, apply mathematical concepts creatively and work together under pressure. Throughout the event, participants tackled a range of demanding tasks that required logical reasoning, strategic thinking and effective communication.

Beyond the awards themselves, the competition provided a valuable opportunity for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom, challenge themselves against high-achieving peers from across the region and develop skills that will support their future academic success.
We would also like to congratulate all the BIS Hanoi students who took part in the school rounds and preparation process leading up to the event. Their enthusiasm for mathematics and commitment to continuous improvement help create a vibrant culture of learning across our school community. We are incredibly proud of our mathematicians for representing BIS Hanoi with such confidence, determination and professionalism.
