BVIS follows the National Curriculum of England, with the academic year running from August to August. Students are placed in year groups according to their age at the start of the academic year. For example, a child entering Year 1 would typically be 5 years old when they begin the school year and would turn 6 during that academic year. As education systems vary from country to country, parents may find it challenging to identify the equivalent year group for their child, particularly when transferring from schools in Vietnam or overseas.
