Early Years Campus Weekly Update 2 Nov 2026

Dear Parents,
What a wonderful and memorable week we had at our Sai Kung Campus!
Celebrating Student Leadership: House Captains 2026-27
Last week, during our whole-school assembly, I was delighted to announce and officially present the first round of our House Captains for this academic year. Each child received their House Captain badge, marking the beginning of an exciting leadership journey within our school community.
As House Captains, these children will play an active role in leading and supporting key school initiatives and community events throughout the year, including projects such as Box of Hope and World Children's Day. They will help to encourage participation, demonstrate our school values, and serve as positive role models for other children across the campus.
A huge congratulations to all the children who put themselves forward. We are incredibly proud of their confidence, enthusiasm, and willingness to take on leadership responsibilities. I cannot wait to see all that our House Captains achieve over the coming months.

At Sai Kung, we are committed to ensuring that children's voices are heard and valued, so House Captains are appointed twice a year. This gives more children the opportunity to share their ideas, represent their peers, and play an active role in helping to shape our school community. In March, I look forward to announcing our second group of House Captains.
A Spooktacular Halloween Celebration!
Last week also saw the return of our much-anticipated Halloween Party, and what a fantastic afternoon it was!
A huge thank you goes to Ms. Lewsey for her hard work in organising such a wonderful event, and to our incredible parent volunteers who generously gave their time to host the various activities across the campus. Your support helped create a truly magical experience for the children.

The campus was filled with excitement as the children enjoyed decorating spooky biscuits, taking part in a Halloween scavenger hunt, creating ghostly crafts and spider webs, attempting to pin the nose on the pumpkin, and, of course, showing off their best moves on the dance floor during some wonderfully spooky dancing!
Events like these are only possible through teamwork and partnership between staff and families, and it was wonderful to see the children having so much fun together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a memorable success.
Looking Ahead: Celebrating Diwali

This week, we will begin exploring the festival of Diwali, learning about the rich traditions, stories, and cultural celebrations associated with this special festival of light.
Throughout the week, the children will discover the origins and significance of Diwali through a range of engaging learning experiences, including stories, creative activities and opportunities to explore some of the customs and traditions celebrated by families around the world.
To mark the end of our learning together, we invite all children to come to school on Friday dressed in bright, colourful clothing as we celebrate the joy, colour and light that are such important parts of this festival.
We look forward to sharing this learning journey with the children and celebrating the diversity that makes our school community so special.
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
Warm regards,
Ruth Hanson
